In order to achieve the goal of stable production, coke saving and high quality, and reduce the production cost and ton iron cost, the ironmaking plant has set up a lean improvement group to carry out the research on the reduction of hot metal silicon in blast furnaces.

In the process of focusing on reducing the value of hot metal parsimony, the lean improvement team of the ironworks carefully made a cause analysis chart, from the production impact and reduction mechanism and way, a comprehensive analysis of various factors affecting hot metal parsimony, and by checking the functional unit reports, formulating operating policies, checking the blast furnace daily and iron-making reports, blast furnace operating curves and other means. Finally, four main reasons were determined: iron rhythm, manganese content in molten iron, basicity of slag and top pressure of furnace.

After clarifying many factors affecting hot metal homogeneous silicon, the research team acted quickly and developed a series of effective improvement measures. In view of the reason that the iron production rhythm is not compact, the iron production rhythm is strengthened, the smelting intensity and utilization coefficient are improved, the contact time between iron drops and ash in coke is reduced, and the time of iron drops passing through the blast furnace layer is also reduced, and the silicon entering the hot metal will be reduced. Organize the iron opening of the field in advance, zero interval organization, which can avoid the iron interval exceeding the specified time due to organizational problems.

Aiming at the cause of low manganese content in hot metal, by adding ore blocks with high manganese content or increasing the proportion of ore blocks with high manganese content, under the premise of not affecting the burnup level of blast furnace, iron ore blocks and Mb blocks with high manganese content are appropriately increased to increase the manganese content in hot metal, which can improve the fluidity of slag and iron and reduce the cost of raw materials.

In view of the reasons for the low basicity of slag, timely check the composition of incoming ore, improve the proportion of incoming sinter, and ensure that the alkalinity is controlled within a reasonable range. To this end, the research team has re-formulated the battering accounting system, which is different from the previous adjustment of binary alkalinity, such as Si and S exceeding the specified value, and the calculation of alkalinity is checked every hour, and the alkalinity is checked according to the difference of the composition of adjacent hot metal △Si and △S. Thus, the sulfur content of molten iron has a higher internal control rate while ensuring the reduction of silicon.

In view of the reasons for the low top pressure, the research team decided to first increase the inlet air volume, activate the furnace cylinder, and then gradually increase the top pressure setting value to ensure that the top pressure is in the safe range to avoid damage to the top equipment.
